On November 16, 2025, we hosted the very first pre-screening of The King of Trash, and the night was nothing short of unforgettable. The event, featured on SBTN, brought together more than 180 invited guests, including community leaders, influencers, elected officials, business owners, and close friends of the Duong family.
It was a full house, and it was a full-heart experience
The moment the lights dimmed, you could feel the room shift. For 72 minutes, the audience journeyed through a true story that reflects the heart of millions of Vietnamese families — fleeing war, surviving the open sea, rebuilding from nothing, and choosing hope even when the world felt impossible.

A Community United by One Story
Guests shared afterward that the film felt deeply personal, almost like watching their own family’s memories on screen. Many cried. Many sat in silence, overwhelmed by emotion. Almost everyone said the same thing —“This story is real. This is us.”

From influencers and entrepreneurs to elected officials and long-time community supporters, everyone expressed how powerful and important this film is. The honesty, the emotion, and the humanity of the Duong family’s journey touched every single person in the room.

A Successful Launch Toward 2026
The pre-screening was an incredible success. The energy, the feedback, and the love from the community exceeded every expectation. Many VIP guests told us they want to support the film, share it widely, and help bring it to schools, community groups, and film festivals so more people can experience this story.
SBTN captured the essence of the night perfectly — the emotion, the pride, and the realization that this film is more than a documentary. It is a legacy. It is history. It is a reminder that survival, resilience, and gratitude are universal.
